    Veterinary Assistant

    Tabatha started working at Hope in February 2018 and says she is loving it so far! She moved to Virginia 4 years ago from Connecticut and is currently enrolled at Penn Foster to become a veterinary technician. Ask her about her dogs, turtles, ducks, and Chinese Water Dragon!

    Dr. Ahmad opened Hope Animal Hospital in February of 2012. He is a third-generation veterinarian, graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He has 15 years of experience specializing in small animal care.

  • Kathleen Kaelin
    Receptionist/Administrative

    Kathleen has been with us since November 2016. She graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2008 with a degree in Art and Education, but her love for animals began in her childhood. She has had many companions including dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, a turtle, gerbils, fish, cats, and bearded dragons. She is a vegetarian and a pet mom to 2 cats. She is warm and kind to our furry patients as well as our clients.

    Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

    Jennie joined our team in February 2018. She graduated from Radford University in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, but she has decided to change career paths and pursue veterinary medicine. She has 2 big pups, Sheldon and Atticus, and 1 sweet cat, Keegan. Jennie strives to make a difference and be a voice for the animals.

    Barbara joined our team in April 2018. After retiring from a career in human medicine as a surgical coordinator, Barb went back to school to pursue her true passion in the veterinary field. She loves four-legged creatures of all kinds. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering at the SPCA.
